Raising Awareness and Hope: International Thalassaemia Day

International Thalassaemia Day on May 8th raises awareness about Thalassaemia, a genetic blood disorder affecting hemoglobin production. It emphasizes the importance of early diagnosis, treatment, and prevention strategies.

On this day, various events and activities are organized to promote awareness and support for those affected by Thalassaemia.


In the recent fellowship meeting organized by the Rotary Club of Cosmopolitan on 6th of May 2024 at the Capital Club, Dr. Ahmed Soliman, an expert in Thalassaemia, highlighted the importance of early detection and management of this disorder. He emphasized the role of genetic counseling, prenatal screening, and advanced treatments such as blood transfusions and iron chelation therapy in improving the quality of life for Thalassaemia patients.


On International Thalassaemia Day on May 8th, 2024,we want to show our support for those battling this condition. By spreading awareness, advocating for better healthcare resources, and promoting research on Thalassaemia, we can make a difference in the lives of individuals and families affected by this genetic blood disorder.
