The Rotaract Club of Dubai, in partnership with the international initiative End Plastic Soup, marked the fourth consecutive year of its flagship environmental campaign, End The Litter Trail (ETLT), with a series of coordinated cleanups held on 15 November 2025. The milestone underscores the campaign’s sustained commitment to combating plastic pollution and strengthening environmental awareness across the UAE and beyond.

First launched on 17 September 2022 during World Cleanup Day, ETLT has evolved from a local volunteer activity into a growing global movement. Over four years, the campaign has consistently targeted some of the region’s most vulnerable natural environments, including dive sites, beaches, mountains, deserts, and urban locations, mobilizing increasing numbers of volunteers and partner organizations each year.

This year’s fourth-year edition highlighted the strong collaboration between the Rotary Club of Dubai and the Rotaract Club of Dubai, who together organized cleanups across four distinct environments: the sea, the desert, the mountains, and urban areas.

A marine cleanup conducted with the Bermuda Diving Center brought divers and volunteers together to remove debris from the seabed, while parallel teams of Rotarians and Rotaractors carried out a large-scale desert cleanup, emphasizing the importance of community action in protecting local ecosystems.

Organizers noted that reaching the fourth year of ETLT reflects both the campaign’s growth and the long-term dedication of its volunteers. The initiative continues to align with Rotary’s broader commitments to sustainability, service, and environmental stewardship—transforming awareness into measurable impact year after year.

As ETLT moves into its next phase, the Clubs reaffirmed their commitment to preserving Dubai’s natural landscapes and inspiring wider action against plastic pollution, both locally and internationally.
