Rotaract Club of Bur Dubai: A Rotary Year Where Encouragement Became Impact

The Rotaract Club of Bur Dubai marked a meaningful evening this Rotary year with the successful hosting of its annual Silent Art Auction, held in support of Al Jalila Foundation’s breast cancer initiatives. Led by President Sarah Ghoniem and the club’s dedicated board, the event reflected the club’s continued commitment to service, advocacy, and community impact.

More than a fundraising initiative, the evening stood out for the collective spirit and engagement it inspired among attendees. The event brought together members, partners, and guests united by a shared purpose: supporting patient care and medical assistance across the UAE.

A highlight of the evening was the presence of District Governor Peter Ashdjian, whose participation extended beyond attendance. Through his words of encouragement, he reminded guests that service is an active responsibility. His message resonated strongly, motivating attendees to take part in the cause and reinforcing Rotary’s values of unity, leadership, and action.

This year’s auction also marked the beginning of a new partnership with ZEEArts Gallery. In collaboration with curator Zaahirah, the gallery presented a thoughtfully curated selection of artworks, allowing creativity and compassion to intersect. Several artworks were successfully sold, transforming artistic appreciation into meaningful support for the cause.

The event welcomed over 100 guests and achieved significant outcomes, with proceeds contributing directly to Al Jalila Foundation’s efforts to support breast cancer patients and healthcare services throughout the UAE.
